At the Serious Nerd, we review, preview and give news- and we always give our opinion. We think that’s it important to understand what we think about certain topics, what we like, who exactly we are, so you can exactly understand why we do what we do.
Alek (askiba):
____________
The main owner of the site and who is writing this, Askiba (Alek) is a serious believer in console neutrality- he loves the Xbox 360, Wii, and PS3 equally- they all have the franchises he loves, the indies he cherishes and looks up to and the classics that still live on.
He has a growing knowledge in guitar, inspired by high school age friends Peter and Ralphie, who both have around 5 or 6 years of experience in the guitar and some limited knowledge in the bass.
He enjoys soccer and to some extent basketball, and is well known for his writing ability and reading skills. He has dreams in reviving the adventure game genre by working for several years on a game based off of Office Space/The Office/ Ed Edd and Eddy like humor and stories. Right now he’s creating the game’s story and characters. He’s also working on a comic that also sometimes doubles as a editable storyboard for his game/ television animated show in progress. He has been at work on the project for over a year.
Alek enjoys lots of things in the medium we frequently touch on- video games, books, comics and music. He enjoys Guitar Hero immensely and can play Expert well on most songs. He enjoys They Might Be Giants, the alternative band whose latest release is The Else, which touches on the rock theme he enjoys so much from Guitar Hero and his own guitar playing.
He also enjoys reading alternative comics like Maus, and is learning up on how to create them for his TV Animated Series.
Alek REALLY enjoys the outdoors- he’s traveled extensively in his lifetime, from places like California to Minnesota, to Colorado to Cancun. Alek hails from Poland- thus, he knows Polish and English as a language. He also plans to extensively learn Spanish and French for use in the real world and for certain translation purposes.
One last thing- he really likes pasta and email. Send him some (not pasta- it’ll rot in the mail system)!

Anthony (Sinister2648)
_____________
Anthony got interested in The Serious Nerd website after Alek asked him to be on a podcast. Before long Anthony asked Alek if he could be a writer, and sure enough, he could be.
Anthony is a computer gamer but he has no problem playing the PS2. He owns a DS and has 3 games for it (although he’s beaten beat all of them). For the PC he does owns titles like Halo , Battlefield 2, and Need for Speed: Most Wanted.
Anthony has many unique talents. He has played the piano for 7 years and has performed at the department store Von Maur on two occasions. He also has a talent for Legos and has been playing with them since preschool. He started to get interested in building robots out of special Lego kits when he was 10. A year later he joined a robotics group called the FLL (First Lego League) and has done exceptionally well since then. He has won state and has moved on to the national level. He has also built things out of other materials like a ramp and a fingerboard skate park.
Anthony enjoys traveling and has been all over the world including Canada, Poland, Spain, Italy, and Czech Republic. He has also been to a lot of states in the US like Florida, California, Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Ohio.
Like Alek, Anthony is Polish too, most of his family on his mom’s side is in Poland and they visit them every four years or so. He has limited knowledge in the Polish language but he can get his points across.
Anthony excels at science in and outside of school and gets praised by his teachers for his curiosity about the world. Anthony is not afraid to try new things nor is he shy (but he hates shy people because you have to talk to them like a two year old to learn something about them). He likes people that are up front about things especially if it’s someone trying to improve something like a writing piece or a creation of his.
Anthony is known to talk faster than his mind can think so things can slip out that he doesn’t mean to say. This also happens when he’s AIMing so please forgive him.
One last thing, he can do a Rubik’s Cube!
Jacob (Legend of Link)
_____________
Jake (Legend of Link) was a fan of The Serious Nerd long before he became a writer for the site. One day he emailed Serious Nerd recommending an online game for their weekly article. Apparently they liked his writing style and decided to let him join the team.
Andy was a regular reader at The Serious Nerd for a while before joining the team.
Andy shares the same interests as the other writers. Gaming takes its places much higher above the others though. Andy is a pretty serious (Ha) gamer, not in the “l337″ sense though.
Andy started gaming on the SNES, his most memorable game being Super Metroid. Afterwards Andy then moved along getting all the mainstream consoles to date (Just missing the Sega Saturn) so has a pretty unbiased view on things in the gaming world, but still enjoys gaming on the PC far more than consoles and is currently addicted to Team Fortress 2.
Andy’s music interests involve, but are not limited to; Punk, Rock, Metal and Ska.
You may have also noticed Andy is not good at writing about himself and these kind of pages usually consist of “:)”
Andy hails from England so he can usually be found at Wembley having a spot of tea while watching a game of cricket… Or on steam.

Alex you have to update this page to accommodate the to new writers.
I think the page needs to be updated again :)
