You can’t have it all. Most gamers, but not all, have a current generation system. If this is you things can really suck. Let’s say you had a original Xbox. But, what if someone bought you a Playstation 3 and you just can’t get your clawed hands to fit the controller, or what if you wanted a Xbox 360- but the stores in town won’t be restocking for the next year? Would you believe me that there are a few lucky people that have overcome these problems?
Wii controllers on 360’s? 360 controllers on PS3’s? Keyboards and mice on 360? It’s possible with all those smart ass modders out there. It’s all really cool stuff, in my opinion, but I did find that some people think it’s crap in the archives of some forums. They claim it’s like genetic engineering. BULL.
I like modding stuff into a Wii Remote the best; there is a demo of a guy who rigged this long line of converters from an Xbox 360 Controller to get it to work like a Wii Controller; this can be found here.
I also found a controller that has the inner workings of a PS3 controller in a 360 cover. According to the website, the controller is fully functional and has no problems when running games, but it takes a while to get used to the controller.
I also came across a 360 made into a laptop! I don’t know if the keyboard works with talking to people on Xbox Live but I have to say… It’s really nice and the guy made 2 versions - the first one white and the second one black. I’m not going to write all the differences but you can read them here plus see some extra pictures.
The keyboard and mouse on a 360 isn’t technically a mod but it’s really cool. If I ever get a 360 that’s going to be the first thing I buy for it (if you haven’t guessed yet, I’m a PC gamer). The cool thing about this is how you can not only connect a mouse and keyboard, but you can also connect a PS2 light gun, a PS2 Guitar Hero guitar, or a PS2 dance mat. The converter costs $79 so it’s a little more expensive then buying a 360 game.
